2. 学习年限 （ Length of Doctor’s Programs）
采用全日制学习方式，在校学习年限为3年，最长学习年限一般为6年。
The doctor’s program normally requires 3 years of full time study, 6 years at most.

4. 培养方式和方法 （Methods and Modes of Learning）
留学博士研究生的培养采取导师负责制，也可实行以导师为主的博士论文指导小组负责制。博士论文指导小组的组成可根据留学博士研究生的研究方向及课题内容由导师提名、学院领导批准，小组成员一般由 2～5名教师（含导师）组成，导师是留学博士研究生培养的第一责任人。同时，博士论文指导小组应协助导师对留学博士研究生的课程学习、科学研究和学位论文进行指导。学院要指导和检查留学博士研究生的培养工作。
The overseas doctor students' orientation program should be the responsibility of the student's mentor, or be guided by a mentor-based subcommittee. The subcommittee should be nominated by the mentors and approved by the relevant schools in terms of their research fields and subjects. It should be composed of 2-5 associate professors and professional teachers, and mentors as the leading role. The mentors, with the help of the subcommittee, will guide the course of study, the research project and the dissertation. The relevant schools and the subcommittee will guide the student in obtaining his doctor’s degree.
在培养过程中，应采取理论学习和科学研究相结合的办法，特别要注意培养留学博士研究生的分析和解决实际问题的能力；要鼓励留学博士研究生参加学术活动、自己选题、独立钻研和从事探索性、创新性的研究，关注本学科前沿和研究热点。对于缺乏实践经验和因学科交叉而专业知识不足的留学博士研究生，应创造条件让他们弥补这些不足之处。
The program should aim to foster students’ abilities to analyze and solve practical problems through the combination of theoretical study and scientific research. Students should be encouraged to participate in academic activities, to commit themselves to topic selected for the thesis and to be engaged in independent exploring as well as innovative research. Students are expected to focus on leading edge research and technology related to their discipline. For those students who lack practical experience and expertise in interdisciplinary studies, mentors and schools, should help them to facilitate their further studies.
5：课程设置和学分（Curriculum Credits）
留学博士研究生学习期间修满至少24学分，其中课程学习20分，其它培养环节4学分（专业实践2学分、社会实践2学分）。留学博士研究生必须按照培养方案的要求取得规定的学分后，方可进行论文答辩。
Overseas students in doctor's programs must complete at least 24 credits, including 20 credits in the courses concerned, 4 credits in other sessions (2 credits for professional practice, 2 credits for social practice). Students must obtain the required credits in accordance with the requirements of the doctor’s program, prior to their thesis defense.

6. 实践环节（ Supervised Practica）
1.专业实践（2学分）
Professional Practicum (2 credits)
专业实践是留学博士研究生培养过程的重要环节，通过实践环节应达到：熟悉本行业工作技术规范，具备一定的产品研发和技术创新能力。实践内容可根据不同实践形式由导师决定。实践结束后完成《西安工业大学留学博士研究生专业实践报告》，归入学籍档案。
Professional practice is an important part of the orientation program for overseas students. Through practice, students will become familiar with related professional and technical specifications. They should have the ability to develop new products and hi-tech innovative projects. Their mentors could design a variety of professional practice. The specific requirements are implemented in accordance with the provisions of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees and Graduate Education. The "Practical Report on the Doctor’s Program of Overseas Students of XATU should be filed into students' archives after the practicum comes to a close.
各学院应制订专业实践考评细则，加强对留学博士研究生专业实践的管理与考核，实践相关材料应认真整理、归档保存。
Schools will formulate their own detailed regulations of professional practice evaluations. They should strengthen the administration and assessment of the professional practice, and will carefully organize and archive all relevant reports.
2：社会实践（2学分）
Social Practicum (2 credits)
留学博士研究生应完成学术活动、学校文化体育活动、等社会实践环节，具体要求按学校相关文件规定执行，国际教育学院根据具体情况制订管理细则。社会实践结束后完成《西安工业大学留学博士研究生社会实践报告》，归入学籍档案。
Overseas students should complete all their practica, like academic activities as well as cultural and sports activities on campus, according to the specific requirements stipulated by the relevant rules and regulations of XATU. The schools will formulate rules for the administration of the doctor’s program in combination with specific conditions. The Social Practice Report of XATU" should be preserved in students’ archives after the completion of their social practica.
7. 学位论文（ The Dissertation Process）
按照西安工业大学博士学位论文相关管理办法执行。
The overseas students, their mentors, and assessment subcommittees should abide by the provisions of the Dissertation of doctor's Program stipulated by Xi'an Technological University.
